Job Description

We are seeking a Qualifying Licensed Customs Broker to join our client's team. The QLCB is responsible for monitoring and managing department’s brokerage operation to ensure compliance with all policies, rules, and regulations. An applicant must possess excellent organization, leadership, talent development, customer service, and relationship-building skills in order to succeed in this very rewarding position.

Scope:

  • Serve as the operation escalation for task completion, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and solution design for active customer portfolio
  • Drive innovative solution design and the Trusted Advisor Customs broker philosophy when working internally and externally
  • Support sale in new business acquisition, development and consulting opportunities
  • Serve as branch Customs license holder responsible for managing branch Customs

Responsibilities:

  • Promote a culture and working environment that embraces growth and development to meet the needs of our employees and customers, resulting in higher employee engagement and overall customer satisfaction
  • Identify development opportunities, provide constructive feedback, offer continuous training opportunities for direct line reports
  • Play major role in recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of best in class Customs brokerage talent
  • Provide individualized coaching plans for direct reports and host semi-annual Talent (performance) reviews
  • Set the example for others to follow regarding knowledge and application of U.S. Customs brokerage
  • Educate employees to have deeper discussions with clients regarding CBP priority trade issues and other current events impacting the trade community

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • Active Customs Broker License (required)
  • Become and/or maintain Certified Customs Specialist status with the NCBFAA within one year of employment (required)
  • 5+ years of recent Customs brokerage experience in order to demonstrate firm understanding of all functions related to importing into the US via air, ocean, rail, and truck; domestic delivery; and regulatory compliance, and new partner government agency regulations (required)
